Hello writers,
Send My Love to Anyone Writing Prompts is an offshoot of the Send My Love to Anyone newsletter with Kathryn Mockler and guests.
A new prompt will be posted on the website and/or you can subscribe to receive them by email here.
Why do you write?
Today’s prompt is a writing process prompt that gives you an opportunity to reflect on your relationship with your writing.
It is adapted from a prompt I received from screenwriting teacher Cory Mandell.
The goal here is to help you figure out why you write and why it’s important to you. Having this understanding can motivate you when you don’t feel like writing.
Okay! Let’s get started!
Set a timer for 45 minutes and answer some or all of these questions.
Why do you write?
Why is it important to you?
What do you want to say?
Who are you writing for?
What story do you want to tell?
When does writing feel easy?
When is it difficult?
What are three things you can do when writing gets difficult?
Enjoy!
Let me know in the comments how your prompt writing went!
Listen to the audio version.
